Neurodiversity in the Workplace Webinar

On Friday, we hosted an insightful webinar on Neurodiversity in the Workplace. The session was packed with valuable insights, covering:

  • Ways to enhance how we work with colleagues in the neurodivergent space.
  • Practical ways to better support neurodivergent colleagues and those caring for neurodivergent family members.
  • The importance of recognising and respecting our unique qualities while embracing our differences.
  • Tips we can all use to build a more inclusive work environment.

PJ Hegarty fosters a workplace that cares about and values its people, and we are committed to being a diverse and inclusive employer. This webinar is just one of the steps we take as part of our DEI strategy to ensure we deliver on that promise.

Pieta – Know the Signs

In recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day, Pieta House gave an informative talk to our team about suicide prevention.

The session provided vital insights into the risk factors and myths surrounding suicide, along with practical tips on how to recognise warning signs in those who may be struggling. Pieta also guided our team on how to offer support and encourage professional help for anyone in need.

We all play a role in supporting mental health and breaking the stigma, and we are proud to support Pieta in the vital work they do year-round.

Celebrating Pride Month

To celebrate Pride Month, we hosted Pride-themed coffee mornings across our construction sites and offices to promote diversity and inclusion.

PJ Hegarty is steadfast in its commitment to building a more inclusive workplace for all our employees and creating an environment where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work. 🌈

Lighthouse Construction #MakeItVisible Campaign

Last week at our Waterfront project in Dublin, we welcomed Dale and Ray from the Lighthouse Club as part of the #MakeitVisible campaign.

Dale and Ray delivered two impactful talks on our site. They shared personal stories about their mental health journeys and the importance of recognising and supporting others who may need help by referring them to the Lighthouse charity. Their stories shed light on the challenges people face within the industry and emphasised the vital support available through the charity for industry members and their families.

Lighthouse Club Site Visit

Last week at our major Pharma Project in Limerick, we were delighted to host Lee Anderson and Rob Muldoon, representatives from the Lighthouse Club Construction Industry Charity who are part of the #MakeitVisible team.

Throughout the day, Lee and Rob captivated the team with their heartfelt talks, sharing their personal struggles within the industry. Their stories shed light on the challenges construction workers and their families face and, most importantly, the vital support available to them through the Charity.

With the project employing over 800 people, we understand the importance of open conversation and support within the construction community. The Make It Visible initiative is about making wellbeing support visible in construction; in sight, on every site.
