We are proud to have successfully delivered Boston Scientific Administration Building. Located at the Business & Technology Park on Model Farm Road, Cork, the new administration building spans over 3,000m2. The three-storey building has been seamlessly integrated with existing structures on the site and is now the home to a range of modern functional spaces, including a canteen, office space for 88 staff, meeting rooms, support areas and break-out spaces.
Sustainability took centre stage in this project, and we are delighted the building has achieved LEED GOLD certification. This accomplishment further underlines our commitment to sustainable practices and innovation.
The building was constructed with a reinforced concrete frame, exposed board marked concrete internally, and a fully glazed external façade. It is founded on piles which were carefully installed to avoid damage to existing underground services to the production building, and mechanical plant equipment and solar PV panels are located on the roof. The project also consisted of relocating 35 existing car parking spaces and creating an additional 40 spaces within the new parking area. The internal road layout underwent modifications for better traffic flow and new landscaped areas with boundary planting were installed.
The project was completed within the curtilage of a Protected Structure, honouring the legacy of the ‘Former Munster Institute’ (PS637).
