Building contracting is the primary area of activity of PJ Hegarty. We have been undertaking construction projects successfully for over 95 years. We offer the full range of services associated with a major construction company. The scope of work undertaken varies in type and size from large scale multi million euro projects to small & medium size contracts and covers all sectors of our industry.

Civil Engineering Contractors

PJ Hegarty has significant experience of complex engineering projects. We have proven expertise in large scale infrastructure projects including roads, motorways, flyovers, bridges, pipelines, groundworks and basement construction.

Design & Build

PJ Hegarty are at the forefront of Design & Build projects in Ireland and have an established reputation in collaborating with multi-disciplined design teams. We welcome the opportunity to get involved from the early stages of a project, whereby we can bring our considerable practical experience, a buildability and cost effective solution to ensure that a project is delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standards.

Public Private Partnership

PJ Hegarty have extensive experience in managing the design process and the construction phase of Public Private Partnerships. We have been centrally involved in several consortia that have successfully delivered numerous high profile PPP projects in recent years. These include the award-winning Criminal Courts Complex in Dublin, the M50 (Phase 2) expansion, and the M6 Motorway.

When engaged from the outset, PJ Hegarty brings real added value to our public and private sector clients, working with them to provide the optimum solution for their specific project.

Fit Out

PJ Hegarty has extensive ‘know how’ in the fit out of existing and new premises. Our level of experience is wide ranging having completed numerous fit out projects of varying size in the hi-tech, pharma, commercial, retail, and leisure sectors. Working in partnership with clients and design teams, we deploy dedicated site management who have a proven track record in fit out work together with a database of specialist subcontractors and suppliers. We harness that expertise through systems and procedures specifically developed for bespoke fit out work to ensure a first class delivery. We have particular experience of working in ‘live’ environments and are fully aware of the planning, coordination and management issues that need to be addressed to ensure complete client satisfaction.

FM Services

PJ Hegarty offer a building or facilities maintenance support service to clients which provides cover for the day-to-day maintenance issues that can occur in commercial or institutional facilities.

The maintenance service can be delivered on a planned or “reactive” basis. In this instance, the client contacts a 24-hour help desk which is then forwarded to PJ Hegarty via our I.T. system. We provide a 24 hour, 365 day a year emergency call out service as part of this type of contract.

We continue to increase awareness of lean principles across the organisation and promote integration of new methods into our business procedures though best practice. We support our teams with lean construction implementation using proven construction applications such as digital apps and tools to drive value, eliminate waste and deliver lean sustainable solutions and workflows.
