Quinton Allen joins PJ Hegarty & Sons

Quinton Allen joins PJ Hegarty & Sons as a Construction Director in the Eastern Region.

Quinton has over 20 years experience and a proven track record in delivering large and complex projects across a broad range of sectors in the Industry. Having recently returned from the Middle East where he worked for several years with a major construction company, Quinton took up his new position last month.

We would like to welcome Quinton and wish him every success for the future.

Irish Concrete Society Awards 2020

10 Molesworth Street has been nominated in the BuIlding Category at the Irish Concrete Society 38th Awards Evening & Annual Dinner, the prestigious event will take place on Saturday 21st March in The Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road.

The new six storey office building, developed by IPUT, has a 12,733m² gross floor area over a double basement car park. PJ Hegary & Sons were the main contractor for the project.

Extension of Guinness Storehouse Gravity Bar opens to first customers

On Monday 3rd February, the extension of the Guinness Storehouse Gravity Bar at St.James Gate, Dublin 8 opened for the first time to visitors.

PJ Hegarty & Sons have been involved in this project since late 2018, it comprised of the alteration and extension to the existing Guinness Storehouse Gravity Bar of c. 466m² at 7th floor level; 360m² of alterations at 5th floor level; 151m² alterations at lower ground floor level.

A new build Guinness Storehouse Hub directly adjacent to the Guinness Storehouse building is also included in the project. This four storey building will provide additional space for the Guinness Archives and general staff facilities.

John Curtin is appointed to the Board of PJ Hegarty & Sons U.C.

PJ Hegarty & Sons are delighted to announce the appointment of John Curtin to the Board in the role of Commercial Director.

John joined the company in 1990 as a graduate Quantity Surveyor. In 1997 he became the commercial manager and in 2003 he was appointed to the position of Regional Director. John has been involved in many of our most prestigious projects including all of our landmark industrial projects, our design and build projects and our PPP projects. John has a particular focus on training and development of surveying staff to chartered status and is heavily committed to industry activity. In 2011 John was involved in the merging of the IAVI and the SCS to form  the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI)and was its first President.

We congratulate John and wish him every success for the future.

Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards 2019

PJ Hegarty & Sons are delighted to announce that the Haulbowline East Tip Remediation Project has been chosen as the Engineering Project of the Year 2019 at the Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards held in Dublin on November 15th. The Design and Build Project has seen the 22-acre Haulbowline Island East Tip in Cork Harbour transformed from a desolate, toxic, industrial site into a magnificent public recreational facility for local residents, workers and visitors in what has been one of the biggest environmental works in the history of the State. The project won in the flagship category of Project of the Year which is voted for by a panel of judges and the public, and was also the joint winner of the Local Authority Engineering Initiative Award.

Congratulations to Paul Feeney and his team on the deserved recognition for this project.

NISO Awards 2019

Congratulations to all the organisations who received awards at the NISO awards on Friday last. A special recognition to the PJ Hegarty Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) team for receiving a higher distinction award. This award demonstrates their continued hard work and commitment.

Silver Prize at the CIOB Awards 2019

Congratulations to John Gavigan who was awarded the Silver Prize in the Projects over 25 Million to under 60 Million Category at the CIOB Awards in Croke Park last night.

John was the Contracts Manager for a prestigious office development project at 10 Molesworth Street.
